Sue Carolyn Hickman Wardlaw

Sue Carolyn Hickman Wardlaw, age 78, of Johnsville, AR, died Friday October 31, at John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, AR. Born June 27, 1936 at Ingalls, AR a daughter of the late Roy Franklin “Shorty” Hickman and Ovenia Ivey Hickman she was a farmer, owner/operator of Wardlaw Grocery, member Palestine United Methodist Church and loved to work in her flowers and garden. She married Royce Martin Wardlaw January 14, 1955 and he died February 6, 2006. 

Survivors are 2 sons Marty Wardlaw and spouse Carla, Ingalls, AR. Mitch Wardlaw, Johnsville, AR. 2 daughters Connie Groves and spouse Wade, Sumpter, AR and Lesia Hollis, Johnsville, AR. 1 sister Judy Withers, Warren, AR. 9 grandchildren Shane Groves, Shannon Mann, Jeffery Wardlaw, Criag Wardlaw, Marty Lee Wardlaw, Nealee Lawrence, Cody Hollis, Madison Wardlaw and A’Kay Wardlaw. 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 4:00 p.m. Sunday November 2, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Wayman Mann and Rev. Charles Cauley officiating. Eulogist was Sharon Braswell. Music was provided by Linda Barrett, Hollie Wardlaw, Carrie Langley, Jerry Jeathery and Teresa Neathery. Burial was in Palestine Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Jeffery Wardlaw, Craig Wardlaw, Marty Lee Wardlaw, Shane Groves, Cody Hollis, Dexter Lawrence, Jason Mann and Scotty Ferrell. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Ferrell, Randy Clanton, Charles Ferrell, Sonny Rainey, Donny Ray Lowry, David Temple and members of Palestine United Methodist Church.
