Melba Jeanette Gambil Sanders

Melba Jeanette Gambill Sanders, age 93, of Warren, AR, passed from this life on July 25, 2018, at her home in Warren, surrounded by her family. A daughter of John W. Gambill and Anna Elvira Gambill, she was born on November 18, 1924, at Warren, Arkansas. Jeanette married the love of her life, Thomas Edwin Sanders, on November 2, 1946. She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Carol McDougald and husband, Kenneth McDougald; a grand-daughter, Leslie Ann McDougald Stephens and husband Joseph Gentry Stephens; and a great grandson, Gentry Thomas Stephens; all of Warren, Arkansas, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers: Virl, Virgil, Herchial, Joel, Duel and Travis, and two sisters: Clara Kundert and Ida Belle Johnson. Jeanette was a member of the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church. Jeanette loved her family and getting together for family meals and holidays. She was a homemaker and an active member for many years of the Warren Garden Club and the Ladies Home Extension Club. She was an avid supporter of many Veterans’ organizations. Her favorite entertainment was watching Wheel of Fortune every night and listening to the Gaithers on Saturday night. Jeanette loved telling her relatives and friends of humorous events, most of which were stories about her capers. Funeral services were at two o’clock, Sunday, July 29, with Elder Joe Evans officiating. Burial services immediately followed at Ebenezer Cemetery, located west of Warren. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Bradley County Veterans Museum, 210 North Main Street, Warren, AR, 71671, or to other Veterans’ support organizations. Pallbearers were Vernon Price, Johnny Gonzalez, Charlie Gonzalez, Joe Hairston, Chuck McGinty, Gentry Thomas Stephens, Cliff Morgan, and Chuck Cutrer. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Anders, Mark Johnson, Paul Bertrand, Jerrell Stanfield, David Ragar, Jack Gambill, Joseph Stephens, Don Kundert, Howard Calvert, Dale Rice, Bob Parrish, Billy Sanders and Dr. Hank Wharton.
