Gene O. Briant, age 79, of New Edinburg, AR died Sunday, July 22nd at his home. He was born October 25th, 1938 at his home in Cleveland County, a son of the late Troy Calvin Briant and Lula Irene Harvell Briant. He was retired from Sykes Flooring and Masonite Hardwood Mill, was a member of Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church and a graduate of the New Edinburg public schools. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Marie Walton Briant whom he married December 17th, 1960 and she died September 9th, 2014, a daughter Janelle Marie Briant and a granddaughter Amanda Briant.
Survivors include 3 sons, Coy Briant and spouse Cheryl, Collierville, TN, Troy Briant and spouse Debbie and Roy Briant and spouse Cindy all of New Edinburg, AR. A half-brother Samuel Troy Briant, Rye, AR and 2 sisters Racheal Irene Richardson, Pocahontas, AR and Betty Ann Polm, Little Rock, AR. 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
