James Morgan, 94, of Warren, died Monday, March 5, 2018 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Born March 11, 1923, he was a son of the late John and Sentenual Morgan.
Being the eldest of 8 siblings, he quit school at a young age and worked his entire life as a laborer at the Bradley Mill and Bradley County Road Department. He was a member of St. Paul AME Church in Warren, serving as a steward. He loved mowing yards, driving his tractor, helping anyone in need and collecting cans.
He was also preceded in death by 7 siblings, Clifton 'Mal', Evelyn, Lula, Virginia, Lizzie, Hattie and Maggie; a daughter, Rita Rene.
Survivors:
His wife of 72 years - Syble Price Morgan of Warren
His children - James K. Morgan of Vallejo, CA., Burnette Morgan, Deborah Morgan, Paula Morgan all of Warren and Pamela Morgan of Pineville, LA.
Nine grandchildren - Karen, Lawanaka, Kenneth James, Patrice, Jamilah, Safiyah, Rene Christina, Natalie and Taylor
Ten great grandchildren - Jasmine, Jaquon, Cory, Dasmin, Leila, Janelle, Abreanna, Allen III, Ashley and Allie
A host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were March 9, 2018 at St. Paul Cemetery in Warren with Rev. Nelson Spencer officiating and arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home of Warren.
