Earl Robert Norris, age 90, of Warren, AR, died July 6, at Gardner Nursing Home in Star City, AR. He was the son of the late Elmer R. and late Olellian Joiner Norris. Also preceding him in death was a son Thomas Elmer Norris; a granddaughter Marti Marie Norris; a grandson Christopher Robert Norris; two sisters Juanita Steadman Lawrence and Etoyle Tomlin. Earl served his country during and after World War II as a sergeant in the Air Force. He was in the occupation forces in Japan where he was to meet and marry his wife. He was a retired brick mason and loved to spend time hunting, fishing, playing cards and dominoes with family and friends.
Surviving is his wife of 70 years, Hiro “Mickey” Norris of Warren, AR; and their children: Ann Orleanski of Warren; Erva Sharp of Warren; Nick Norris and spouse Sherry of Plano, TX; Steve Norris of Warren; and Renee Richard and spouse Randy of West Monroe, LA. He is also survived by four sisters: Gladys Rowsey of Horn Lake, MS; Argie Chaillaux of Tucson, AZ; Blanche Waterhouse of Winter Haven, FL, and Linda Earline Engstrom and spouse Bruce of Winter Haven, FL; one brother, James Norris and spouse Evelyn of New Edinburg, AR; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Linda Barrett was organist. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Michael Sharp, David McCullars, Cameron Norris, Matthew Norris, Jonathan Guice, Gene Turpin, and Scott Steadman.
