Merle Dean "Cookie" McLemore

Merle Dean "Cookie" McLemore, age 70, died Tuesday, July 11th, at her home in Weatherford, Texas, after battling interstitial lung disease.  She was born March 11, 1947 in Butler, Alabama, daughter of the late Joseph Hunter Smith and Grace Singleton.  She was a Baptist, worked for several years as Manager of Mac's Diesel Service, Shell Lake, Arkansas, and as an Electronics Technician for Sanyo Manufacturing Corp., Forest City, Arkansas.  She spent the remainder of her career as a Nurse and Certified Med Aide in several Nursing & Rehabilitation Centers in the north Texas region.  She was married to the late Felix C. McLemore, Sr., on October 2, 1971 at Pine Bluff, Arkansas, until his death December 11, 2007.  Surviving children:  daughter Karen L. Scott of Austin, Texas, and Sharon Bussell, Middleton, Tennessee; daughters-in-law:  April McLemore, Las Vegas, Nevada and Audra Ortega McLemore, Mineral Wells, Texas;  three sons Lynn McLemore, Las Vegas, Nevada; , John Wayne McLemore, Weatherford, Texas; Felix C. McLemore, Jr., Mineral Wells, Texas; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 16, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Russell Rhoden officiating. Janice Sullivan was organit. Burial was in Fitzhugh Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Kevin H. Scott, Gonzalo Santibanez, Jr., Kyle McLemore, Joshua Clark, Austin McLemore, and Johnny Bussell. Online guest register www.frazerfuneralhome.com
