Charles David Atkins, age 63, of Monticello, AR, died Tuesday, February 28, at McGehee Hospital. Born April 7, 1953, in Warren, AR, a son of the late Vernon Lee Atkins and Marthaline Temple Atkins Johnson he was a retired electrician for Hood Packaging and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife Leticia Cantu Atkins whom he married September 2, 1989. One son Justin Atkins of Monticello, AR. Two step sons Jacob Perez and Adrian Perez both of Fort Dodge, IA. One sister Brenda Burkhart of Banks, AR. Two step brothers Philip Johnson of Bauxite, AR, and David Johnson of Alabama. One step sister Charlotte Pierce of Alabama. Three grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 3, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Wayman Mann and Rev. Sidney McGraw officiating. Linda Barrett was organist. Burial was in Crossroads Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Jacob Perez, Adrian Perez, Bob Calloway, Phil Chandler, Justin Atkins, and Philip Johnson.
