Sybil Frances Dawkins Morgan, age 83, of Warren, AR, died Thursday, July 14, at Belleview Estates in Monticello, AR. Born September 18, 1932 in Bradley County, AR, she was a daughter of the late Morris Dawkins and Mittie Parker Dawkins. Sybil was a retired school teacher for the Warren Public School System with 37 years of service, was an active member of the Retired Teachers Association, a member of First Baptist Church where she served as the chairperson on the grounds committee, was a member of the Grace Sunday School Class and the widow of Carroll Vance Morgan who died October 21, 2011.
Survivors are one son David Morgan and spouse Linda of Warren, AR. One daughter Dr. Alisa Hopper and spouse Terry of Monticello, AR. Three grandchildren Jordan Lee Hopper of Longview, TX, Austin Clay Hopper and Morgan Elizabeth Hopper both of Monticello, AR. Sister in laws Mamie Ruth Morgan of Little Rock, AR, Monte Jackson Morgan and Mary Morgan both of El Dorado, AR. Her caregiver Rosie Williams of Warren, AR.
Funeral service was 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at First Baptist Church in Warren with Rev. Greg Stanley and Rev. Russell Rhoden officiating. Pianist was June Bierbaum, soloist were Marlin Raines and Gail Morgan Robinson. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Jordan Hopper, Austin Hopper, Joel Morgan, Brad Morgan, Damien Walsh, Tim Morgan, Stephen Loomis and Terry Morgan.
