Richard Travis Riley

Richard Travis Riley, age 66, of Hermitage, AR, went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2016.  Born January 12, 1950, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, he was the son of Leland and Frances Riley.  Ricky worked for Southwestern Bell and AT&T for 33 years.  He was an active member of Saline Baptist Church where he served as deacon, and he loved the Lord with all his heart.  He always put others before himself.  More than anything, Ricky enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson.  He also enjoyed fishing, camping, and sharing his farm with friends and church family.  He was the best son, brother, husband, father, and Papaw ever.

Ricky is preceded in death by his father and his first wife, Joyce Outlaw Riley.  He is survived by his mother and his wife of 8 years, Marilyn Rhodes Riley. He is also survived by a son, Jason Riley, of Hermitage, AR; a daughter Leslie Dickinson and her husband Josh of Benton; and Marilyn’s sons, Joey Roper of Springdale, AR, and John Roper of Houston, TX. He is survived by three sisters, Sandra Barnett and husband Jimmy of New Edinburg; Pat Bolland and husband Jud of Warren; and Marsha Berry and husband Phil of Warren.  He was Papaw to a very special grandson, Walker Dickinson.  Special nieces and nephews and many friends also survive him.

Funeral service was 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Tim Saunders and Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Janice Sullivan was organist. Burial was in Outlaw Cemetery at Sumpter, by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Tracy Saunders, Kenneth Saunders, Roger George, Sam Griffin, Bart Castleberry and Carlton Owen. Honorary pallbearers were the men of the Adult Sunday School Class at Saline Baptist and Richard’s nephews.  Memorials preferred to Saline Baptist Church, 807 Hwy 8 S, Hermitage, AR 71647.
