Lynda Sue Gorman Johnson

Lynda Sue Gorman Johnson, 70, of Tyler, Texas, died Sunday, July 3, 2016, at home surrounded by her loving sons and surviving siblings. She was born Oct. 9, 1945, in Hastings, OK, but grew-up in Hermitage, AR. The daughter of the late Charlie Austin Gorman and Neta Ross Gorman of Hermitage, AR, she was a Master Gardner and owner of the former Daisy Herb & Flower Farm in Midland, TX.  She loved to dig in the dirt and share cuttings of her favorite plants with her friends and family.  A former police dispatcher with the Midland Police Department, she was an active supporter of the Humane Society and considered her rescue Shih Tzu dogs her babies and precious family members.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Benjamin George (BG) Johnson, who retired in 1997 as a Sargent of the Detective Division of the Midland Police Department.  Her brothers, Tommy Lee Gorman and Charles Anthony Gorman, both formerly of Warren, AR, also preceded her in death.
Those left behind to honor and cherish her memory are her sons, Douglas Johnson and wife Fonda of Andrews, Billy Johnson and wife Lillie of Midland, step-children; Roger Dan Johnson and wife Leslie of Comanche, Texas, Lynn Denise Burquist of Houston, Terry Don Johnson of Houston, twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  She also leaves behind siblings, Wanda Reep of Brookport, IL, Roger Gorman, Sr. of Hermitage, AR, Beverly Latimer and husband Clay of Houston, TX, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  Our heart-felt thanks go out to the staff and management of the Briarcliff Health Center and The Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, TX, who made her journey easier and immeasurably supported the family caregivers.  Cremation is by the Hilliard Funeral Home in Van, Texas, a private family Memorial will be held at a later date.  Donations in her honor may be made to the Humane Society, Pet Solutions Inc, P.O.
