Helen Marie Sims Ferguson

Helen Marie Sims Ferguson, 91 of Batesville passed away Monday, July 4, 2016 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born February 4, 1925 at New Edinburg, Arkansas, a daughter of Atlas L. Sims and Beulah Carter Sims. She married Kenneth W. Ferguson on December 27, 1947 and he died May 13, 1998.  She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Warren and at the time of her death was an active member of the Ramsey Heights Baptist Church in Batesville. She enjoyed cooking, fishing and spending time with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers O. L. Sims, Robbie Sims, Barney Sims, Elbert Sims, Marvin Sims, and sister Ollie Sims Moseley.
She is survived by one son, Mike Ferguson and wife Kathy of Hot Springs; one daughter, Glenda James and husband Terry of Batesville; one grandson, Brock Ferguson and wife Kristen and two great grandsons, Graham Ferguson and Sloan Ferguson all of Jonesboro; one sister, Jimmie Sue Waldrop of Warren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.at the Ramsey Heights Baptist Church in Batesville with Bro. Aaron Maxwell officiating. Burial was in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
Pallbearers were Danny Watson, Gary Thornton, Charlie Keen, Joey Richardson, Scott Williams, Norman Branscum and Brian Coats. Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons and Men of Ramsey Heights Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ramsey Heights Baptist Church Building Fund.
