Alton Jay Forrest

 Alton Jay Forrest, age 75, of Hermitage, AR, died Saturday February 6, at his home. Born June 22, 1940, in Bradley County, AR, a son of the late Johnnie Green Forrest and Maggie Evaleen Hickman Forrest he was retired from a long career in industrial construction. Alton Jay had a great talent and passion for music and was a member of Green Grove Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors are his wife Betty Martin Forrest whom he married February 8, 1984. One daughter Sharon Raines of Texarkana, AR. One step son Gerald Johnson (Kristian) of Monroe, LA. One step daughter Becki Hooks (Russell) of Williston, N.D. Three grandchildren Shawn, Misty and Amanda Poe. 3 step grandchildren Jeremiah, Hope and Tripp Johnson. Funeral service was 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Ricky Smith and Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Dottie Smith played the piano and sung. Burial was in Outlaw Cemetery at Sumpter, AR, by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were James Ray Forrest, Beavor Ray Smith, Steve Hackworth, Reece Hackworth, Danny York, Ken Thornton and Josh York. Honorary pallbearers were John Parrott, Howard Calvert, Dr. David Chambers, Ron Neely, Billy Scroggins and Bartley Smith.
