Susie Bea Hampton, 81, of Johnsville, died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at home in Hermitage.
Born November 15, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Emma Hampton.
She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Johnsville where she served as Sunday School Superintendent until her health failed. She was also an Eastern Star New Light Chapter 71, a Foster Grandparent in the Hermitage School District and helped in the Soup Kitchen.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roosevelt Hampton and five children, Chester Hampton Sr., James T. Hampton, Willie Hampton, Bessie Terry and Estella Harris.
Survivors:
Her children: Quinzola Wiley, Tyron Hampton and wife Cherice all of Hermitage, Marietta Hampton, Frances Hampton and Theodore Hampton and wife Nancy, all of Warren, Fredrick Hampton and wife Priscilla of Johnsville
Siblings: Georgia M. Hampton of Johnsville, Ella B. Hampton, Eva Nell Harris, Mary Hampton and Lawrence all of Warren
A special daughter Kathy Burnett of Warren
Special friends: Bernice Hampton and Mittie Lou Hampton
31 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were September 14 at the Hermitage Community Center with Rev. James Carroll officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery in Johnsville by Hammons Funeral Home.
