Lou Ella Thompson


Lou Ella Thompson age 97 of New Edinburg, AR died Thursday, March 27th at Chapel Woods Nursing Home in Warren.  She was born August 29th, 1916 in New Edinburg, AR a daughter of the late Charles Edward Huddleston and Sallie Barnett Huddleston.  She was a housewife and homemaker, a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church and the widow of Sherman Thompson whom she married in 1934 and he died in 1977.  Also preceding her in death was a daughter Beverly Weeks, brothers Maurice Huddleston, Johnny Huddleston, Leonard Huddleston and Roy Huddleston.  Sisters Illa Harrelson and Libbie Fisher.

Survivors include 3 daughters Norma Hensley, New Edinburg, AR, Helen May and spouse Bill, Maple Valley, Washington and Elizabeth Marks and spouse Ron, Bryant, AR. 1 half-brother Aubrey Huddleston, New Edinburg, AR.  2 sisters Sallie Wolfgang, New Edinburg, AR and Mildred Gwenn, Kingsland, AR, a son-n-law James Weeks, New Edinburg, AR.
10 grandchildren  Debra Clanton and spouse Mark, Warren, AR, Kenneth Hensley and spouse Tammy, New Edinburg, AR, Michael Hensley and spouse Beth, Hermitage, AR, Jeffery May and spouse Kim, Freemont, CA, Gregory May and spouse Katie, Seattle , WA, Carla McDougald and spouse Marty, Hermitage, AR, Shelia Keen and spouse Mike, Bryant, AR,  Jamie Weeks and spouse Jena, Blytheville, AR, Mark Weeks and spouse Kristen, New Edinburg, AR and Terry Weeks and spouse Amy, Steele, MO. 19 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services 2:00pm Sunday, March 30th at Frazer’s Chapel. Burial in Reaves Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Visitation 6pm till 8pm Saturday, March 29th at Frazer’s.  Online guestbook www.frazerfuneralhome.com
