Margie grew up in Ingalls, Arkansas attending grade school in Ingalls, she was crowned Miss Beauty Queen of Ingalls, Arkansas which always made her smile. She was always loved her roots in Arkansas, over the years her roots in Arkansas and her family were always very important.  She often told the story of the 1949 tornado that destroyed Warren, Arkansas where she and her husband William Perry DuBose lived just outside of town on Pennington road.   With the force of the tornado, their house exploded and all the furnishings were blown away along with flattening the house. She had taken the children and laid across them on the bed praying for their safety. When they all woke up, they were in the back yard on the mattress and everyone was okay, suffering only a few scrapes and bruises.

Margie is also a cancer survivor from 1962, when a new form of treatment was introduced, radium, she was blessed to live many more years cancer free.

On June 26, 1941 she married her childhood sweetheart, William Perry DuBose in Sumpter, Arkansas and they moved to Chicago, Illinois and lived until WWII broke out, at that time Perry was called away to serve his country in the Pacific Theater.  Margie returned home to live with her parents where she delivered her first-born son.  She lived at home with her parents until her husband returned from serving his country and they began their life together deciding to live in Arkansas or Illinois.  A number of times, the move was made back and forth until in 1955, when they chose to stay in Illinois where her husband Perry DuBose Sr. opened up a business and named it National Lift Truck Service and it is now owned and run by their sons.
Margie was reared a Baptist and eventually began to attend the Methodist Church; she loved to study the Bible and sing old church songs from long ago that have a wonderful message and melody to them.   Margie was a homemaker and loved flowers, cooking and sewing.  She had a gift of hospitality and welcomed many to eat at their table.  She loved her family and everyone was always welcome at her home, where she kept a fresh cake, or apple slices waiting to serve with a cup of coffee.

She is survived by her sons, Perry D. DuBose and wife Toni, Naples, Florida, Jeffery Paul DuBose and wife Debra, of St. Petersburg, Florida.  A daughter Beverly Kay DuBose and husband Ron Cochran, Ingalls, Arkansas.  Margie was a cherished grandmother of 8; an honored great-grandmother of 22; a loving great-great grandmother of 10; a fond aunt of many nieces and nephews as well.
