Betty Jean Ferguson Richard

Betty Jean Ferguson Richard, age 77, of Hermitage, AR, died Saturday, December 22, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was born February 16, 1941, in Charleston, MS, a daughter of the late Ira Ferguson and Pearl Miller Ferguson. Betty was a retired insurance agent for Farm Bureau, a member of Union Hill Baptist Church, past president of the Arkansas Women’s Bowling Association, and a member of the Arkansas Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Also preceding her in death were brothers; Bobby Ferguson, James Sonny Ferguson, Billy Ferguson, sisters; Dorothy Swann, Peggy Tidwell, Joyce Ann Ferguson.

Survivors are her husband Alton Richard whom she married September 20, 1959. Three daughters Angela Richard Emery and spouse Timothy of Ocean Springs, MS, Wendy Richard Clayton and spouse Tony of Tunnel Hill, GA, and Tracy Richard Mooney and spouse John of El Dorado, AR. One sister Nancy Hughes of Magnolia, AR. Five grandchildren Timothy Emery, JR, and spouse Christina, Jeanette Emery, Trey Mooney, Richard Mooney, and Sarah Clayton. Three great-grandchildren Cadence Emery, Zoey Emery, and Taleah Emery.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 27, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Burial is in Union Hill Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, at Frazer’s. Online guest register www.frazerfuneralhome.com
