Eugene Hamilton


Eugene Hamilton age 85, of Warren, AR died Tuesday, June 19th at his home.  He was born May 25th, 1933 at Godfrey Place in Bradley County.   He graduated from Vick High School in 1951. Eugene was the son of the late Horace Hamilton and Verlee Clanton Hamilton.  He was also preceded in death by a sister Mary Frances Sharp, a brother Danny Hamilton and a grandson Brent McDougald.  Eugene proudly served in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954 and he then served in the Army Reserves and the Arkansas National Guard.  Eugene was a long-time member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Warren.  He served on the Hermitage School Board for 15 years. He retired from Potlatch Inc. after 33 years of service. He was a former SOLVA Board Director, the Southeast Bradley County Water Association, the L”Aigle Creek Conservation District Board and he was an active member of the Bradley County Cattleman’s Association. 

Survivors include his wife of 62  years, Mary Mitchell Hamilton whom he married May 26th, 1956. 2 daughters, Jeannie Fawbush (Ron) of Godfrey Place, Tammi Nowlin of Monticello, AR.  2 sisters Betty Trussell and Virginia Temple both of Warren, AR. A sister in law Carolyn Ashcraft (John) of Rison, AR.  A brother in law Charles P. Mitchell (Sarah) of Pine Bluff, AR. 3 grandchildren Brian McDougald of Alvin, TX, Laura West(Jason) of Warren, AR and Shai Brann (Clifton) of Fort Smith, AR. 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was 2:00PM Friday, June 22nd at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Rocky Goodwin and Rev. Ruel Cruce officiating. Linda Barret was organist and soloist was Melvin Mills. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery with Military Honors by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Steve Parnell, David Dees, Linwood Dees, Mac Lochala, Ryan Hicks, Gary Green, David Mann, and Harold Hampton. Honorary pallbearers were Friendship Sunday School Class, SEBCWA Board, Terry Donnelly, Jason Green, Dr. Kerry Pennington, and Daise Gardner.  Online Guestbook www.frazerfuneralhome.com
