Geraldine Powell Sparks, age 95, of Warren, AR, died Sunday, November 5, at Chapel Woods Health and Rehabilitation in Warren, AR. Geraldine was born September 25, 1922, in Hermitage, AR, a daughter of the late Robert Buford Powell and Susan Blanche Sharp Powell. She was retired from L’aigle Creek Conservation District, a member of First Baptist Church and the widow of Oscar O. Sparks, Jr., who died October 25, 1975. They were united in marriage December 2, 1945. Also preceding her in death was an infant daughter Deborah Lynn Sparks.
Survivors are one son Ronnie Powell Sparks and spouse Sherry of Miramar Beach, FL. One daughter Tonya Leigh Sparks of Tampa, FL. Two brothers Bill Powell of Warren, AR, and Rev. Kerry Powell of Newport, TN, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 9, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. David Watkins officiating. Linda Barrett was organist and Brent Powell, Jamie Powell, Gary Powell, and Chris Powell sang. Burial was in Moseley Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
