Jonar R. Avery, 80, of New Edinburg, died Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce.
Born June 19, 1937, he was a son of the late Zeb Rainey and Dorothy Avery. His adoptive parents were the late Nobia D. and Ashley Barnett.
He was a member of St. John AME Church in New Edinburg and former employee of Georgia Pacific Corp.

Children-Travis Joe Avery, Janice M. Young, Robby Avery, Bobby Avery and Calvin Avery
A host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 25th at 11:00 A.M. at Sweet Union COGIC in New Edinburg. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery with arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home of Warren. Family hour will be Thursday at Hammons Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M.
