James W. Briant, age 87, of New Edinburg, AR, died Thursday, March 30, at Bradley County Medical Center. Born January 1, 1930, in Cleveland County, AR, a son of the late William Roy Briant and Mattie Ozell Harvill Briant. He was retired from Sykes Flooring, Darrough Poultry Company and a farmer. James was a member of Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church and a member of Huey Lodge # 78 F.&A.M. Also preceding him in death were two sisters Louise Ford and Garlene Chancellor.
Survivors are his wife Martha Barnett Briant. One son Larry Briant and spouse Becky of New Edinburg, AR. Four daughters Bobbie Saunders of Warren, AR, Rita Martin and spouse Frank of New Edinburg, AR, Linda Cameron and spouse Paul of Junction City, AR, and Terry Gullett and spouse Freddy of New Edinburg, AR. Nine grandchildren and Twenty great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.
