Dirrick Dewayne Steppes, Jr., age 82, of Warren, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Life Touch Hospice in El Dorado.
Born November 22, 1933, he was a son of the late Dirrick Dewayne Steppes and Rosa Steppes.
He was a member of St. James AME Church in Warren. He was a former employee of Potlatch Corp for over 40 years, the Warren School District for 5 years, and many years with Hammons Funeral Home.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Steppes and Amos Steppes, a son Edward Steppes, and a daughter-in-law, Darace Steppes.

His wife of 42 years-Maxcine Steppes
Children-Patsy Steppes (Edwin) of Missouri City, TX; Lisa Cross, Charlette Cross, and Marilyn Steppes all of Warren; Rickey Steppes (Marge) and Rodney Steppes all of Park Forrest, IL., and Shawn Cross (Norma) of San Pedro, CA.
Siblings-Ira Mae Steppes Pickens (Emmitt), Barbara Steppes Boxley and Bernard Steppes (Brenda) all of Los Angeles, CA., Athlene Steppes Matlock of Hawthorn, CA., and Terry C. Steppes (Audrey) of Pearland, TX.
15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were July 30, at St. James AME Church in Warren with Presiding Elder James R. Hooper officiating. Burial in Mt. Olive Cemetery with arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
