Sherman Washington Guess, age 86, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 in Magnolia, Texas, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Bradley County, Arkansas, he was a Korean War Veteran, proudly worked for Central Freight Lines for almost 37 years and then lovingly cared for his mother-in-law, Idie Black, during her illness until she passed away in 1997. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Lummie Guess, brother Bobby Guess and loving wife of 49 years, Billie Black Guess. Survived by his son, Paul Guess and his wife Christie, step-grandchildren Amanda and Michael Scruggs; daughter Lauren Hasha and her husband David, grandchildren Corey, Jordan, Michael, Eric and Adam Hasha; daughter Paulette Scroggins and grandchildren Eric Scroggins, January Liles and her husband Russell, and great-grandchildren Eternity Dawn and Quentin Gregory. Visitation will be held 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, Friday, January 29, 2016 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home with Celebration of Life Service at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
