Roy Daniel Childers, Sr., age 71, of Strong, AR., died Thursday January 8, at John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, AR. Born October 4, 1943 in Bradley County, AR, a son of the late Burl S. Childers and Doris Young Childers Dean he was a retired truck driver, a shrimper and a Baptist.
Survivors are 2 sons Rory Childers, Malikoff, TX., Timothy Childers, Minneapolis, MN. 2 daughters Melissa Garrett, Ingleside, TX., Priscilla Ponder, Junction City, AR. 1 brother David Childers, Tioga, LA. 3 sisters Kathy Payne, Monticello, AR., Sheila Gill, Jacksonville, FL., Lisa Boutte, Broussard, LA. 11 grandchildren. A special friend Angie Brogdon, Junction City, AR. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Also preceding him in death was a son Roy Daniel Childers, Jr.; a daughter Robin Regina Childers.
