Vivian Lucille "Pete" Stanley

Vivian Lucille "Pete" Stanley, age 80, died June 24, 2014, at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Little Rock.  She was born August 13, 1933, a daughter of the late Steve and Ada York in Johnsville.

She was a member of the Royal Grand Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and a retired Supervisor and Union Stewart for Potlatch.

She was preceded in death by three sons:  Curtis, Larry, and Leonard Harris; one daughter, Debra Sue Jackson Smith.

She is survived by her husband, James W. Standley; her children Robert Harrris (Essie) of Warren, Raymond Harris (Sandra) of Little Rock, Gloria Gant (Paul), Sandra Jackson, Chanel Hooper, Santoney Vaughn, all of Warren; and Cynthia Thomas (Ken) of Crossett.  She is also survived by three children she raised:  Roy Vaughn, Melony Stokes (Darryl), and Ryan Jackson, all of Little Rock; one brother, Douglas York of Warren; and 30 grandchildren, 39 great grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 28, at St. James AME Church in Warren.  Rev. Kent Broughton, Rev. Jessie Washington, Rev. Barry Spencer, Rev. James Hooper officiated the service.  Burial was in Palestine Cemetery by Hammons Funeral Home.
