Wanda Lea Whittington Armstrong age 82, of Banks AR died Saturday, March 15th at her home. She was born December 16th, 1931 in El Dorado, AR a daughter of the late Mitchell Whittington and Ruby Wright Whittington. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking for everyone, loved fishing and gardening and was a bowling coach. Also proceeding her in death was her husband Julius Armstrong who she married October 28th, 1954, 2 sons Mitchell E. Heath and Perry Gibson Armstrong. A grandchild Steven Armstrong, a great-grandchild Jazmine Adams and a great-great grandchild Kaycen Rice and a brother n law B. Perry Armstrong.
Survivors include her son, Wayne Armstrong, Starbuck, Washington. 4 grandchildren Ian Heath, Gilbert, AZ, Michelle Baggett, Warren, AR, Stephanie Armstrong and spouse Shaun, Banks, AR, Samantha Nikki Armstrong Houston and spouse Brandon, Little Rock, AR 7 great-grandchildren Alexys Baggett, Jordyn Rose, Kyhlee Cruce, Travis Felecetty Armstrong, Izabella Adams, Brayton Houston and Brynton Houston. A niece Latonia Jantosik and spouse Steve and a great-niece Jessica Marie Jantosik.
Graveside services were 2:00pm Thursday March 20th at McFarland Cemetery with Rev. Tony Rinehart officiating. Debra West was soloist. Active pallbearers were Dallas Hays, Buddy Peirce, Steve Jantosik, Brandon Houston, Shaun Adams and Bill Lephiew. Honorary pallbearers were James Johnson, Billy Baggett, Joey Ozment, Artiesen Cancer Center, Dr. Edward Abram and Staff, Dr. Richard Pillsbury, Dr. Aldo Fonticiella and Dr. Scott Stern.
