Linda Jo Franks Joyner

Linda Jo Franks Joyner, age 84, formerly of Warren, passed away January 2, 2021, at Drew Memorial Hospital.

Linda was born October 29, 1936 in Hope AR. She was the daughter of the late Austin Franks and Rema Sparks Franks. She graduated from Pine Bluff High School and later from Arkansas State Teachers College. After receiving her teacher’s certificate, she taught for the next 26 years, first in DeWitt and then New Edinburgh.

Also preceding her in death was her husband of 43 years, Clifton Joyner and Son-in-law Blake Marsh.

Linda is survived by her brother Gene (Pam) Franks of Hot Springs, her children Tom (Robin) Wingard, of Monticello, Dana (Chris) King, of Pine Bluff, Angela Joyner Marsh of Warren and Cliff (Traci) Joyner of Bella Vista. Grandchildren: Brandye Wingard Bisek (Casey), Sidney Wingard Wales (Cody), Jennifer Wingard Hyde (Michael), Blake Marsh Jr., Colton King, Rebecca Marsh, Jim Joyner, Lindsay Oglesby (Tate) and 10 great-grandchildren.

Throughout her life she was involved in numerous civic and charitable organizations. After their retirement, she and Clifton spent many years enjoying their home on the lake in Hot Springs. Linda leaves behind a host of friends from her Supper and Bridge clubs and her churches.

The family would like to offer a special thanks and appreciation to her caregiver of the last two years, Gwen Leonard.
