Wayne "Bud" McClain

Wayne “Bud” McClain age 90 of Warren, AR departed this life Friday, November 1st at the St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock, AR.  He was born January 25th, 1929 in Rye, AR a son of the late Furn McClain and Mamie Ashcraft McClain. He was a retired Mechanic for Glynn Lyon Buick for 21 years, he worked for Potlatch Lumber Company for 12 years in the truck shop, and White Brothers Construction for 12 years. Bud enjoyed staying busy, he loved fixing up old tractors, working and raising his cows and helping his family, friends and neighbors.
 He was a member of Willoughby Free Will Baptist Church and a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.  On October 1st 1954 in Greenville, MS he married Johnnie Lee Johnson McClain and their marriage spanned 65 years together.  He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amber Fern Patterson, sister Minnie Lee Ashcraft, brothers James C. “Billy” McClain, and Arthur B. “George” McClain. 

Surviving other than his wife, is a son Denny W. McClain and spouse Heather, Warren, AR. Daughters Mae McClain Patterson and spouse Jack, Warren, AR, Claire McClain Cissell and spouse Phillip, Memphis, Tenn.  4 grandchildren Brandi Patterson Nichols and spouse Jonathan, Little Rock, AR, Dylan McClain and McKenzie McClain both of Monticello, AR, Jordan Claire Cissell, Memphis, Tenn, 2 bonus grandchildren Taylor Ford Waxley and spouse Tyler, El Dorado, AR, Lauren Leanne Ford, Cabot, AR.  3 great-grandchildren Joseph Nichols, Emily Nichols and Molly Nichols all of Little Rock, AR.  Brothers Walter “Pete” McClain and spouse Annie, Pine Bluff, AR and Mack McClain and spouse Deray, Warren, AR.  A sister Peggy McClain Harton and spouse Thomas, Little Rock, AR and a sister in law Agnes McClain, Pine Bluff, AR.
Funeral services were 1:30PM Wednesday, November 6th at Frazer’s Funeral Home with Rev. Hurley Ashcraft officiating.  Burial was in Willoughby Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Scott White, Tracy White, Harper White, Gary Mark Ashcraft, Steve Ashcraft, Barry Haddox and Bill Taulbee.
