Ronald Glenn Starks

Ronald Glenn Starks of Sheridan, Arkansas was born January 16, 1952, in Malvern, Arkansas, the son of Ila Faye Crouse Starks and the late Robert Truman Starks.

Ron went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 12, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock at the age of 66.

He was a 1970 graduate of Carthage High School, a 1974 graduate of UAM in Monticello and had retired after 30 years of service with Allied/Alltel/Windstream as an Informatic Support Technician.

He was an active member of First Landmark Baptist Church in Sheridan where he served his Lord faithfully. He served as Sunday School teacher, missions chairman, usher,and deacon. He was a faithful servant who was an example to all. He was a kindhearted, selfless, gentle man who was a beacon of light to all he met and always had a smile.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandsons, Evan Michael Watson, Ezekiel Gray Watson and a granddaughter, Lucy Elizabeth Starks.

Survivors: loving wife, best friend and caregiver for over 44 years, Sherry Glennon Starks; son, Matthew and wife Autumn Starks; daughter, Shannon and husband Michael Watson: mother, Ila Faye Starks, all of Sheridan and sister, Sharon and husband Ben Garner of Warren. He was also “Bop” to his precious grandsons, Eli (Bo Glennon) Watson and Levi (Robbie) Starks who loved him dearly. He is also survived by nephews, Jeremy and wife Brandy Garner of Warren, B.G. Garner of Virginia Beach, Virginia; niece, Lisa and husband Scott Williams of Warren; aunt, Brenda and husband Freemon Miles of Hot Springs Village; special friends, Donnie and Pam Hill of Sheridan and his church family and many friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, November 15, 2018   at First Landmark Baptist Church with Bro. Shawn Hill, Bro. John Sanders, and Bro. Donnie Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Tulip Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are David Rogers, Wes Kerr, Wayne Hughes, Butch Thompson, Eddie Paul Woodall, Mike Watson, Randy Mooney and Caleb Castleberry. Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of First Landmark Baptist Church, Dr. Scott Winston, Gary Kelley, and the Ron Starks Pairs and Spares Sunday School class members. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made  to First Landmark Baptist Church Building Fund, 402 West Center, Sheridan, AR 72150.
