Rev. Larry Strong

Rev. Larry Strong, 63, of Jonesboro, formerly of Warren, died, Tuesday, November 6, 2018 in Jonesboro. Born February 1, 1955, he was a son of the late DC Strong and Lula Trotter.

He was a member of St. Paul AME Church in Jonesboro. He was a former pastor of St. John Watson Gethsemane AME, St. Peter’s in Lake Village, Dewitt Circuit Bethel in Gillett, St. Paul in Holly Grove, St. Paul in Tuckermann, Carter Chapel in Helena, St. Mark in Osceola and Bethel AME in Batesville.

He owned Strong Upholstery and Custom Shop in Jonesboro. He enjoyed reading and studying God’s word, pastoring, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Geraldine, Linda, Charles, Alfred and Willie.

Survivors:
His daughter – LaShondra Brown of Mt. Vernon, TX.
Grandchildren – Shuntianna Sumler, Jayla Brown both of Pine Bluff and Quinton Johnson Jr. of Mt. Vernon, TX.
Siblings – Shirley Johnson (Charles) of Hot Springs, Alice Strong of Little Rock and Curtis Strong of Warren.
Special brother – Randy Turner of Banks
Special niece – Valerie Kearney of Tulsa, OK.
A host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday, November 17th at 11:00 A.M. at St. James AME Church in Warren with Rev. Kurbe Newsum officiating and arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home of Warren.
