Shelton Van Clark

Shelton Van Clark, SR. age 75 of Lake Village, formerly of Warren, AR died Friday, July 27th , 2018. He was born May 10th, 1943 in Warren, AR a son of the late S.O. Mutt Clark and Louise Davidson Clark.  Shelton was a retired pipefitter with over 30 years of service, he was a member of Local 706 and served as a Union Steward. He served on the Civil Air Patrol, was a Mason and a United States Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam War aboard the USS Alabama and the USS Enterprise. Shelton was a master at hunting and fishing, he made sure all his family and friends learned what he knew about hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time at the camp, hunting in the Ouachita mountains or fishing on the many rivers and lakes in South Arkansas.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Daniel, brothers James Clark and M.V. Clark.

Shelton is survived by his wife, Mattie Brown Clark whom he married January 14th, 1966.  3 sons, Iry Rice and spouse Carolyn, White Hall, AR, Van Clark and spouse Renea, El Dorado, AR, and Maylon Rice and spouse Becky, Fayetteville, AR.  A daughter Shellia Kornegah and spouse Dwayne, Pine Bluff, AR. A sister Betty Nugent, Pine Bluff, AR. 12 grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren.

Funeral services with Flag Presentation was 10:00AM Monday, July 30th at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Donald Stafford officiating. Linda Barrett was organist. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Scott Richardson, Steve Richardson, Jerry Denton, Brad Denton, Jeremy Denton, and Thomas Frazer.
