Sherman Lee ‘BaeBae’ Preston Sr., 81, of Hampton died Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at his home. Born April 9, 1937, he was a son of the late Jett Lee Preston and Versie Mae Childs Preston.
He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Harrell. He was employed by Potlatch Corp. for 35 years before retiring.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Lee Rayford, two sons, Donnie J. Preston, Sherman L. Preston Jr., siblings, Charlie Preston, Roy E. Preston, Ruby J. Ford and Velma Henderson.
Survivors:
His children – Bobby R. Preston, Jerry Preston (Ida), Jeanette Cones (Anthony) all of Hampton and Henry Lee Preston of Camden.
Sister – Erma McElroy of Camden
Grandchildren – LaKeisha Preston Walker, Latasha R. Preston both of Hampton, Anna M. Burns of Warren, DeRay J. Preston, Jessica Preston, Derrick J. Preston all of Conway, Ashley S. Preston, and Queshay L. Preston both of Arkadelphia.
12 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were April 21st at Hampton High School Gymnasium with Rev. Arlin Carson officiating. Burial was in A T Cemetery in Jersey with arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home of Warren.
