John Oliver Belcher Sr., died Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Chapel Woods Nursing Home in Warren.
Born July 7, 1940, he was a son of the late George Lee and Mattie Jane Belcher.
He married Gloria Dean McRae on July 16, 1966, to this union three children were born. he also had a daughter prior to the union.
He was a retiree of Potlatch Corp. and later worked for SEARK Marine in Monticello. He was a member of Onward Lodge #149, Free and Accepted Masonry - Prince Hall Affiliated. he also served as Chairman of Parks and Recreation Committee for the City of Warren.
He was a member of St. Paul AME Church in Warren, where he served as a Deacon.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gloria, two children, 5 siblings, David, Jessie, Joe, Roy and Lucille.
Survivors:
His children - John Over Belcher Jr. of Austin, TX. and Bridget Robinson Harding (Mark) of Warren.
Siblings - James Belcher of Little Rock, Bobby Belcher of Hesperia, CA., Janet Belcher of Colton, CA. and Merle Robinson of Ontario, CA.

Funeral services were September 9, at St. Paul AME Church in Warren with Rev. James R. Hooper Sr. officiating and Rev. Nelson Spencer pastor. Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery with arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home of Warren.
