Sula "Susie" Mae York

Sula "Susie Mae York, 90, of Warren, died Sunday, February 19, 2017 in Pine Bluff.

Born November 22, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Ed and Nannie York.

She attended Bradley County School and later earned her G.E.D. from the State of Arkansas.  She was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Warren.  she retired from the State of Arkansas in 2013, after many years of service.  She enjoyed fishing, gardening, feeding as many people as she could and most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her son Robert Earl Jones; siblings, Andrew York, Vester York, Willie Ed York, Leo York, Biscoe York, Novella York, Reola Strong, Beulah Shorter and Winnie Jackson.

Survivors:
her children - Margarette Ross, Ronnie Franklin, Sr., and James Meadows.
15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 30 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were March 4th at St. James A.M.E. Church in Warren with Rev. James R. Hooper officiating.  Burial was in Palestine Cemetery in Johnsville with arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home of Warren.
