Lorena Huitt

Lorena Huitt age 97 of Warren, AR died Friday, February 17th at the Chapel Woods Nursing Home. She was born January 6th, 1920  in Warren, AR a daughter of the late Frank Adcock and Lucy Scogin Adcock.  She was retired from Kroger Grocery store with 25 years of service,  she was a “Rosie The Riveter” in the Jacksonville, AR bomb manufacturing plant during WWII. One of the proudest accomplishments in her life was her care as a Foster Home Parent for many children and for many years.  She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the widow of Lavon Huitt whom she married February 4th, 1943 and he died May 5th, 2002.  Also preceding her in death, were 2 brothers, Frank Adcock, Jr and Floyd Adcock and a sister Jewell Dean Woodall.

Survivors include 2 sons, Bruce Huitt and spouse Tammy, Warren, AR and Johnny Huitt, Warren, AR.  A sister Lucille Allen, Texarkana, TX and 4 grandchildren Marcus Huitt, Madison Huitt, Keely Huitt and Logan Huitt.

Funeral service was 1:30 PM Monday, February 20th at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. David Williams and Rev. Matt Overall officiating. Linda Barrett was organist. Burial in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Kevin Harris, Marcus Huitt, Lee Adcock, Logan Huitt, Shane Haygood and Steve Huitt. Honorary pallbearers were former co workers at Kroger, Deacons of Immanuel Baptist Church and Dr. Kerry Pennington.
