Alma Bernice Wright

Alma Bernice Wright, 79, of Milwaukee, Wis., died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, in Milwaukee.

Born January 30, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Artie Harris.

She attended Bradley County High School in Warren and was an avid athlete in basketball, baseball and track.  She married Freddie Wright, Jr. in 1951 and they relocated to Milwaukee in 1962.  She was a member of Jericho Church Without Walls in Milwaukee.  She was retired from St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee after 40 years of service.  She enjoyed canning, quilting, gardening, taking pictures, and spending time with her family.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Freddie, a son, Mark, siblings, Macola, Hazel, Tommy Ray, Samuel, Joseph, Leola, Mary, Lucille, George and Hazella, and two sisters-in-law Mary Wesley and Betty Jackson.

Survivors include her children, Henry Harris, Eric Wright (Karen), Barbara Woods (Richard), Andrew Wright (Madeline) and Gail Wright; daughter-in-law Elaine Wright, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were October 15th at Jericho Church Without Walls with Rev. Anthony D. Burns officiating.  Burial was in Graceland Cemetery in Milwaukee with arrangements by Northwest Funeral Chapel of Milwaukee.
