Louie Edward Ashcraft

Louie Edward Ashcraft,  age 93 of Hermitage, AR died Sunday, October 2nd 2016 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, AR.  He was born July 12th, 1923 in Cleveland County, AR a son of the late Ben Thomas Ashcraft and Martha Yarbrough Ashcraft.   He was retired from the City of Warren as a truck driver and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Herbine, AR.  He served his country in the Untied States Army during WWII,  having fought on D-DAY and in the invasion of Okinawa, Japan where he earned a Purple Heart.   He was a family man, a loving husband, daddy and Pappaw.  He loved hunting, fishing, farming and taking care of everyone.  He was also preceded in death by his wife Doris Mae Braswell Ashcraft whom he married December 15th, 1943 and she died August, 1st 2006 which spanned 63 years of marriage.  Sisters Betty Lou Braswell and Gertie Lee Brian.  Brothers Joe Calvin Ashcraft, Ralph Ashcraft and Alfred Ashcraft also precede him in death.

Survivors include a son Thomas Ashcraft, and a daughter Mary Jane Mann and spouse Bobby, all of Hermitage, AR.  2 brothers John William Ashcraft, Warren, AR and Charles Ashcraft and Wilma, Wilmer, AR.  2 grandchildren Jason Mann and Melissa Mann Harrod and spouse Brad, all of Hermitage, AR.  3 Great-grandchildren  Braden Harrod, Olivia “Sassy” Harrod and Jenson Harrod.


Funeral services 10:00AM Wednesday, October 5th at Frazer’s Funeral Home.  Burial in Outlaw Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home.  Visitation 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 4th at Frazer’s.  Online guestbook www.frazerfuneralhome.com
