L.V. Mills

L.V. Mills, age 82 of Warren, AR, went to be with his Lord on Aug. 8, 2016 at the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Monroe, LA. He was born April 21, 1934 in Dierks, AR, a son of the late E. Mills of Warren, AR and the late Myrtle Snyder Mitchell of Nashville, AR. Mr. Mills retired as a self-employed house and mobile home transporter. He proudly served his county by enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1954. He served during the Korean Warn and later joined a Track Vehicle Mechanic during his years of service. Mr. Mills was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Warren where he served as a deacon. Proceeding Mr. Mills in death was a grandson, Melvin Lamont Mills, three brothers, J.D. Mills, Fred Mills, and Milford Mills.

 He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Martha Herring Mills, whom he married on August 23, 1958; one son, Melvin Mills and wife, Pat of Warren, AR; one daughter Debbie Mills Leslie and husband, Sam, of Monticello, AR; two grandchildren, Ryan Leslie of Little Rock, Miranda Leslie Wisenor and husband, Drew of Richardson, TX; two great-grandchildren: William Leslie and Julian Leslie and one brother, Cecil Mills of Mayville, TN.

Funeral service was 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11 at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Wally Ferguson and Rev. Danny Kelley officiating. Linda Barrett was organist and Melvin Mill was soloit. Burial was in Adam Singer Cemetery by Frazer's. Active pallbearers were Frank Valentine, Dewayne Henry, Drew Wisener, Ryan Leslie, Ricky Lewis, Michael Vines, Bruce Mills and Bradley Herring. Honorary pallbearers were Eddie Lewis, Sonny Bethea, Deacons at Westside Baptist Church, Bill Perry and Dr. Kerry Pennington.
