Leonard Fay McClellan

Leonard Fay McClellan, age 76, of New Edinburg, AR, died Friday August 19, at St. Vincent’s in Little Rock after a sudden illness. Born June 5, 1940, in New Edinburg, AR, a son of the late Johnny Duncan McClellan and Iva Mae Thompson McClellan he was a retired adjuster for Viking Bag in Pine Bluff where he founded and was president of his local union. Leonard was a member of Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church and president of Macedonia Hunting Club. He could always be found with a Dr. Pepper in his hand and a trusty dog by his side. He was known for his famous chocolate gravy, his quick wit, and his relentless hard work. He deeply and fiercely loved his family. Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Ruth Hazel Weaver, Sue McClellan; one granddaughter, Kimberly McClellan.

Survivors are his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Burns McClellan. One son Mark McClellan and spouse Sharon of Warren, AR. One daughter Terri Martinez and spouse Sam of Texarkana, AR. One brother Tom McClellan and spouse Helen of Shreveport, LA. Three grandchildren Samuel, Kristin, and Stephen; and two great grandchildren Skylar and Harper; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service was 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 21, at Frazer’s Chapel with Samuel Martinez and Rev. Sam Martinez officiating. Janice Sullivan was organist and soloist was Karen Thompson. Burial was in Reaves Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Jerry Weaver, Bobby Weaver, Danny Weaver, Chris Burns, Bryan Burns, Michael Burns and Patrick Ellis. Honorary pallbearers were Macedonia Hunting Cub and hunting buddies.
