Irma Frances Frisby Leslie

Irma Frances Frisby Leslie, age 89, of Warren, Ark., passed away August 13, 2016, at her home in Warren.  Irma was born May 4, 1927, in Vick, Ark. to Robert and Mary Frisby.  After graduating from Hermitage High School, she attended Arkansas A & M College, graduating with a teaching degree. Irma taught elementary and junior high students at Hermitage and Warren schools for 35 years, most of that as a fourth grade teacher in Warren, until she retired in 1987.  She was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church in Warren.

She is survived by one son, Samuel McFadden Leslie, Jr. and wife Debbie of Monticello, Ark.; five daughters, Lynn Starns and husband Brett of Bogalusa, La.; Joan Albritton and husband Ronnie of Zachary, La.; Donna Leslie of Memphis, Tenn.; Sherri Courtney of Baker, La.; and Terri Chisom and husband Danny of Monticello, Ark.; sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Irma is also survived by her sister Melvina Nixon and husband Jerry of Sheridan, Ark.; and her brother Gerald Frisby of Sheridan, Ark.  She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Samuel McFadden Leslie, Sr.; her parents; three brothers, Willie Charles “Pete” Frisby, Carroll Lee Frisby, and Bill Frisby; one infant son, William Mack Leslie; and one granddaughter, Katie Moore.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16 at Frazer’s Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, August 15 at Frazer’s. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers are Irma’s grandsons Brandon Starns, Joseph Starns, Jonathan Albritton, Casey Albritton, Drew Albritton, Ryan Leslie, Mac Courtney, and Jacob Chisom. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Nixon, Don Nixon, Rusty Rowell, Jane Harris, Ted Hickman, and Matthew Pennington.  Arrangements are by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Memorials preferred to The First Presbyterian Church 212 E. Church, Warren, AR 71671. A special thanks is extended to The Guest House, especially Kim Forrest, Cora, Crystal, and Barbara.
