Ola Jean Hilson Carlin

Ola Jean (Hilson) Carlin, age 74, gained her angel wings Tuesday, May 31, 2016.  She was the third of five children born to Aaron and Marjorie Hilson on November 5, 1941 in Banks, Arkansas.  She grew up in Camden, Arkansas.  Jean attended and graduated from Fairview High School where she was a member of the 1959 high school state champion basketball team.  She was preceded in death by her parents Aaron and Marjorie Hilson, and her sisters Oma Jean Hilson and Mary Matkin.  She is survived by her two sons, David Carlin (Cheryl) and children Clint and Skylar of Camden; Chris Carlin (Deidre) and children Briley, Hadley, and Trace of Stuttgart;  her sister Patricia Rayford (Larry) of Bossier City, Louisiana; her brother Aaron Hilson, Jr. (Rose) of Camden; her brother-in-law Ted Matkin of Vinton, Louisiana; and numerous extended family members.

Heaven gained an amazing angel who always put others first.  Jean loved helping others unselfishly.
She was a loving mother and Mawmaw who cherished spending time with her family and friends.  She was an avid gardener, deer hunter, and enjoyed fishing.  Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a lifelong member of Fairview Road Baptist Church.

 Visitation will be 6pm til 8pm Friday, June 3rd at Fairview Road Baptist Church in Camden, AR with a special family viewing at 5pm.  Funeral will be held at Fairview Road Baptist Church at 1pm on Saturday June 4th with burial following at Williams Cemetery in Banks, AR.  Frazer’s Funeral Home is in charge of Services.
