James William McClain, Jr.

James William McClain, Jr. age 78 of Warren, Arkansas died Monday, May 23, 2016. He was born December 23, 1937, in Cleveland County, Arkansas to James William McClain, Sr. and Ollie Mae Beaty McClain. He was retired from Potlatch Corporation with thirty-two years of service as the Bradley Yard Foreman. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Warren. Mr. McClain was a fifty plus year member of the Masonic Lodge #33, F. & A. M. of Warren, serving as the Worshipful Master and also serving as treasurer of the lodge for a number of years. Preceding him in death was a daughter Marion Gail McClain, a grandson Coty Allen McClain, and a great-grandson Gabriel Sullivan, a brother Albert (Bud) McClain and two sisters Doris McClain Coker and Billie Maxine McClain. Survivors are his wife Gala Vinson McClain, whom he married November 30, 1956; two sons: James E. "Jim" McClain (Cheryl) of Maumelle, and Thomas L. "Tommy" McClain (Robbin) of Little Rock; two daughters: Ramona McClain Smith of Vilonia, and Stacy McClain Hargrove (Jeff) of Cabot; six grandchildren: Julianna Smith Yeatman, Hannah Smith Sullivan, Zachary Keaton McClain, Zoe Elizabeth McClain, Gavin McClain Hargrove, and Kyzer Luke Hargrove; one great-grandchild Harrison Jax Yeatman. He is also survived by three sisters: Dorothy Smith of Sheridan, Martha Spakes of Memphis, TN., and Jo Small of Pine Bluff. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 26 at Frazers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Rye, Arkansas. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 25 from 6-8 pm.
