Garlene Briant Chancellor, age 87, of New Edinburg, AR, died Saturday, November 7, at the Bradley County Medical Center in Warren. She was born December 8, 1927, in Cleveland County, AR, a daughter of the late William Roy Briant and Mattie Ozelle Harville Briant. Garlene was a retired production manager for Sykes Flooring, a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church and the widow of William “Bill” Chancellor who died February 3, 1996. They were united in marriage October 4, 1945. A sister Louise Ford also preceded her in death.
Survivors are one son Frank Chancellor and spouse Betty of Warren, AR. Two daughters Carolyn Ashcraft and spouse Dwayne of New Edinburg, AR, and Shirley Raymer and spouse Glynn of Garland, TX. One brother James Briant and spouse Bobbie of New Edinburg, AR. A sister in law Virginia Henry of Hermitage, AR. Seven grandchildren, Ten great-grandchildren and One great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service was 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Dwayne Ashcraft, Rev. Rocky Goodwin and Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Linda Barrett was organist and The Bryant Sisters sang. Burial was is in Moseley Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Britt Chancellor, Brian Chancellor, Tyson Ashcraft, Ben Splawn, Jayson Raymer, Kent Raymer and Jordan Raymer. Honorary pallbearers were Landon Splawn, Will Chancellor, Caleb Chancellor, Braiden Chancellor, Peyton Raymer and Chris Raymer.
