James Merle Calloway, age 87, of Roseburg, OR, died Wednesday September 16, at his home. Born March 28, 1928 at Ingalls, AR, a son of the late Robert Carson Calloway and Myrtle Frances Huitt Calloway he was retired from International Paper Company, a member of Vine Street Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors are his wife Marion Eloise Orr Calloway whom he married February 10, 1951. Two sons Gaylon O. Calloway and spouse Rebecca of Jay, FL, Gregory M. Calloway and spouse Allison of Vancouver, WA. One daughter Regina E. Jayne and spouse David of Fair Oaks, CA. 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also preceding him in death were brothers: Klondis Calloway, Tollie Calloway, Carl Calloway; sisters: Marie Norman, Ruby Greenwood Johnson, Louise Baldwin, and Verna Mae Calloway.
