Calvin Eugene "Punkin" Nichols

LCPL Calvin Eugene “Punkin” Nichols age 67 of Warren, AR died Sunday July, 19 2015 at the Pine Hill Nursing Home in Camden, AR.  He was born September 5th, 1947 in Wilmar, AR, a son of the late George “Cal” Nichols and  Maude Johnson Nichols.   He was a member of Harmony Freewill Baptist Church, a member of the local VFW in Warren.   Punkin joined the United States Marine Corp on March 28th, 1968 and went to serve in the Vietnam War where he was severely wounded, and therefore received the Purple Heart Medal.  LCPL Calvin “Punkin” Nichols also received the Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the National Defense Medal.  Calvin really enjoyed his yearly trips to Branson, MO, and loved to be around people.  Also preceding him in death was a brother Jr. Nichols and sisters, Rosie Marie Williams and Betty Hickman and a special friend Jerry Lee Hamilton.

Surviving are two sisters, Hazel Bond and spouse Bobby, Warren, AR and Dottie Jackson, Des Moines, Iowa.  Brothers Charles Nichols and spouse Linda, Warren, AR and Sambo Nichols, Warren AR.

Funeral services 10:00AM Wednesday, July 22nd at Frazer’s Funeral Home.  Burial with Military Honors in Union Cemetery at Rye.  Visitation 6pm till 8pm Tuesday, July 21st at Frazer’s Funeral Home.  Online guestbook www.frazerfuneralhome.com
