Charles L. "Popeye" Martin, Sr., 84 of Wilmar, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at his home.
Born March 22, 1931, he was a son of the late John Henry and Viola Williams Martin.
He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Wilmar. He was an employee of L.D. Long Inc. of Monticello for many years, later becoming a logging contractor.
He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, six siblings and four children, Peopla, Charles, Jr., Mark and Belinda.

His wife of 44 years - Ann Martin of Wilmar
His children - Temaus (Michelle), Charles III (Emilia), Willie (Doris), Greg (Ethel), Anthony all of Warren; Herbert, Marquis, Marilyn (U.S.) all of Little Rock; Rod (Tonya) of Wilmar; Rena of Monroe, LA., Daphna (Lewis) of Little Rock and Lisa (Ulysses) of Monticello.
37 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grands.
Sisters-Aleen Henry of Milwaukee WI., Kathleen Fisher of Wichita, KS; and Doris Rainey of Little Rock
A host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were May 30th at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Wilmar with Rev. Shay Gillespie officiating. Burial was in Wilmar Cemetery by Hammons Funeral Home.
