Mary Varnice Johnson

Mary Varnice Johnson age 84, of Hermitage, AR died Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 at the Medical Center of South AR in El Dorado. AR.  She was born December 16th, 1930 in Vick, AR a daughter of the late Claude Smith and Jewell Sharp Smith.  She was a retired employee with Armstrong hardwood flooring and a housewife.  She was a member of the Marsden Baptist Church and a 1950 graduate of the Hermitage Public School System and the widow of Gorman Lamar Johnson who died April 2, 2011.

Survivors are 2 daughters Becky Johnson, Hermitage, AR, Pam Johnson, El Dorado, AR. 2 sisters Peggy Abernathy and spouse Bill; Betty Miller all of El Dorado, AR. 1 grandchild Tara Johnson, Shreveport, LA. Brothers Billy Joe Smith and Ronald Smith also preceded her in death.

Funeral service was 10:00 a.m. Friday May 8, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Billy Reed and Rev. Hugh Nelson officiating. Linda Barrett was organist. Burial was in Marsden Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Randy York, Ricky Roper, Scott Richardson, Steve Richardson, Bob Cook and Hugh Allen Beasley. Honorary pallbearers were Kelly Cook, Dr. H.L. Frisby, Curtis Blankinship, Jr., Dr. Kerry Pennington and members of Eagle Lake Crossroads Baptist Church.
