Allen L. Ferrell

Allen L. Ferrell, age 85, of Johnsville, AR, died Tuesday April 7, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, AR. Born February 17, 1930 in Johnsville, AR, a son of the late Fletcher Ferrell and Maude Bell Clanton Ferrell he was a lifelong tomato farmer, member and deacon of Christian Fellowship, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Allen was an avid deer hunter and loved the outdoors.

Survivors are his wife Fern Stone Ferrell who he married February 4, 1989. 1 son Bryan Ferrell and spouse Pam, Johnsville, AR. 7 brothers Harvey Ferrell and spouse Sue, Little Rock, AR, Harry Ferrell and spouse Judy, Coushatta, LA, Hurley Ferrell, North Carolina, Herman Ferrell, Oak Grove, LA, Wylie Ferrell and spouse Natalie, Heber Springs, AR, Jabe Ferrell and spouse Rhonda, Oak Grove, LA, Bernard Ferrell and fiancé Jhanna, Heber Springs, AR. 3 sisters Beatrice Davis and spouse Jack, Poquoson, VA, Jimmie Lou Ellerbe and spouse Leon, Oak Grove, LA. Mary Kees and spouse Stafford, Heber Springs, AR. Brother in law Joe Smith, Oak Grove, LA., Sister in Law Joy Ferrell, Panama City, FL. 2 grandchildren Lauren Maxwell and spouse Jarrod, Johnsville, AR, Zach Ferrell and fiancé Mallory, Monticello, AR. 2 great-grandchildren Lane Allen Maxwell, Amy Rae Ferrell Maxwell both Johnsville, AR. Step son Daren Clanton and spouse Tammy, Bunkie, LA. Step daughter Kaylon Taylor and spouse Jimmy, Johnsville, AR. 4 step grandchildren Brittney Martin and spouse Shaun, Ball, LA, Kevin Taylor, Johnsville, AR, Alyssa Clanton and Logan Clanton both of Bunkie, LA. 3 step great-grandchildren Caysm, Bryce and Natalie Martin all of Ball, LA. Also preceding him in death by a spouse Amy Nell Ferrell; a brother Monroe Ferrell; sisters Betty Smith, Gracie Spurgin and a nephew Steve Ellerbe.

Funeral service was 4:00 p.m. Thursday April 9, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Paige Grider was organist and soloists were Brittney Martin and Shaun Martin. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery at Johnsville by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Lathan Hairston, Lorin McLeod, Eugene Daugherty, Klay Lowry, Kevin Taylor and Richard Ellerbe. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Edward Ferrell, Kenneth Ferrell, Crroll Gene Temple, Calvin Outlaw, Randy Clanton, Donnie Ray Lowry, Leon Ellerbe, Dr. Dichelle George, Dr. Drew Kumpuris, Dr. Tim Simon, Kenny Morris, Billy Joe Ferrell and Wilson Richards.
