Clifton Eugene Joyner

Clifton Eugene Joyner, age 87 of Warren, Arkansas died peacefully on Tuesday March 10th at his home in Hot Springs surrounded by family.  He was born February 26, 1928 and received his education in the Warren area schools.  He served in the United States Air Force before beginning a 33 year career with Potlatch Corporation retiring in 1986.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Hot Springs.  He enjoyed the outdoors and many years of hunting and fellowship with his Morgan/Thompson hunting club, dinner with his supper club and most of all spending time with family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents Lanis Joyner and Nancy Stanford Joyner as well as brothers Alvin and Virgil Joyner both of California. He is survived by a brother, Carlton Joyner of Redwood City CA, Linda Franks Joyner, his loving wife of 43 years, daughter Angela Marsh, husband Blake, Warren AR; a son Clifton Jr, wife Traci, Overland Park KS, son Tom Wingard, wife Robin, Monticello AR and daughter Dana King, husband Chris, Pine Bluff AR, along with 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.   Clifton was loyal servant of God and to his family, friends and others whose path he crossed.  He modeled for all what a good husband, father, friend and citizen should be.  Never one to complain, he was optimistic to the end and grateful for his many blessings.  He was proud of and shared in the many accomplishments of his family.  He is remembered fondly as a true southern gentleman.  His life is a testament that good guys can finish first.  A memorial service was 2:00pm, Saturday March 14 at First Baptist Church, Warren AR. with Rev. John McCallum officiating. Rev. Russell Rhoden was soloist and June Bierbaum was soloist. Arrangements were by Frazer’s Funeral Home.   Memorials preferred to First Baptist Church of Warren or First Baptist Church Hot Springs.
