Gloria D. "Polly" Thomas, 79, of Monroe, LA., formerly of Hermitage, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at her home.
Born January 6, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Otis Johnson and Lula D. Newton Nicks.
She attended school in the Broad Settlement. She was a former employee of Beverly Enterprises and the Hog Farm. She was a member of Weary Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Marsden and a member of the Weary Rest Travelers for years.
She was also preceded in death by her five siblings and two children, Floyd Thomas and Carol Thomas Gilbert.

Her chidlren-Willie J. Hampton and husband Charles, Rosie Badger and husband John all of Monroe, LA., Lillie M. Miles and husband Gary of Rasdena, CA., Shelly thomas Ellison, Lisa D. Thomas both of Hermitage and Hunter Thomas Jr. and wife Phyllis of Paragould.
Sister-Mary L. Williams of St. Louis, MO.
Sister-in-law-Ann Calloway and husband Raymond of Fresno, CA., Jimmy L. Jams of Las Vegas, NV.
A host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were November 8 at the Hermitage Community Center with Rev. Larry Hines officiating. Burial was in Marsden Cemetery by Hammons Funeral Home.
