Mary Nannie Summers



Mary Nannie Summers, aged 83, of Chidester, AR (formerly of Warren, AR), passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, AR after a brief struggle with cancer. Mary was born February 9, 1931, in Warren, AR the second of nine children to the late Shelton Adams and Eva Flippo Adams.
She was a member of Chidester Baptist Church in Chidester, AR and enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in all church functions. If food was on the agenda, she always prepared her famous chicken & dumplings and fried apple pies. She enjoyed working puzzles and attending the Senior Citizens Center in Chidester where she had many wonderful friends. In January 2013, Mary moved to The Meadows in Bentonville, AR where she made new friends and left a lasting impression on the staff and residents with her wit and sense of humor.
She is preceded in death by brothers Meade Adams, Charles Adams, and Jimmy “Jimbo” Adams, her sister, Louise Clemons and grandson, Brett Bryant.
She is survived by her children; sons Jim Bryant and wife Mary of Rogers, AR, Gene Bryant of Stafford, VA and Randy Bryant and wife Beth of Rogers, AR, daughters Regina O’Neill and husband Gary of Warren, AR, Kathy Atkinson and husband Steve of Stella, MO; brothers, Shelton Adams, Jr. and wife Louvenia “Vennie” of Crossett, AR, John Adams of Rogers, AR, and sisters, Catherine “Kitty” Allen of Crossett, AR and Ida Greenwood and husband, Gerald of Spring Hill, TN. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and many other close relatives and friends.
Visitation will be at Frazer’s Funeral Home on Sunday August 3, from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Monday August 4, at 10:00 a.m. at Willoughby Baptist Church in Warren, AR with burial in Willoughby Cemetery.
